Mad about Macarons!

I went for a macarons workshop yesterday... Why? I have made macarons before, however only 1 out of 3 attempts was successful. Used the French method. So I made the decision to go for a class. For the class, we were taught the Italian method instead - said to be 99% foolproof. However, during the class about half of the macaron shells did not turn out ok as the resting period after piping was too long considering that there was not enough ovens to be used. So that 1% risk happened during class! Haha.. The teacher was apologetic enough though.. Guess it was embarassing for him as well..

Result: Only half of the batch made during class survived. But by the time I got home, less than half of those were left (ate some on the way with hubby and family tried as well). Today gave some to colleagues at office to savour and one said "this is the best macaron I have tasted so far!!" Her comments really made my day!
